2. Set the right price

It is important to determine the value of your home and price it accordingly. Setting the wrong price can hurt the sale of your home and cost more to you in the long run. Ultimately, the value of your home is determined by what a buyer is willing to pay or the “market value”.

3. Prepare your home for sale

Making your home as presentable as possible is essential for getting the highest price. Minor improvements—many that can be done yourself—can make a big difference. You want the buyer to walk away from your home with a lasting good impression.

4. Market your home to potential buyers

Your real estate agent will work with you on a plan to maximize visibility of your home. The better you market your home, the more offers you will get. And the more offers you get, the more choices you have to get the price and terms you want.

5. Negotiate with buyers

Your real estate agent will work on your behalf when negotiating with the buyer or more likely, the buyer’s agent. If you focus solely on the price, you may overlook terms that could be favorable to you as a seller.

6. Manage the real estate transaction

A real estate transaction from start to finish can take several months – from listing your home to negotiating offers to the tasks leading up closing day. Our ultimate goal is to hand over your keys to new and excited buyers after a smooth transaction.
